We, the VSStÖ Leoben, are the social voice at the University of Leoben. We campaign at all levels against discrimination and in favour of equal opportunities for all. We stand for fair study conditions, social security and an affordable life. It is important to us not to leave anyone behind and to be a loud voice for all students. We are loud for improving study conditions for everyone!
The Österreichische Hochschüler_innenschaft (ÖH) is the legal representation of students. Our top priority is to put the interests of students first. That is why we are involved both in the University Representation (HV) and in various departments of the ÖH Leoben in order to create a framework for good studies for everyone. We are particularly committed to ensuring that the university representation is a critical voice for us students vis-à-vis the teaching staff. For us, it is important that the ÖH uncompromisingly stands up for the interests of students.

Our university is evolving – becoming more international, diverse, and sustainable. We envision a Montanuni where all students are actively welcomed, regardless of their background. A semester abroad should be accessible to everyone without bureaucratic hurdles. At the university of the future, we study in an international environment, become experts in our fields, and understand the bigger picture. We strive for education that empowers us to make the world a better place!
VOTE FOR…
Our university should be a place where studies, family, and personal development go hand in hand. We demand free childcare at the Montanuniversität as well as a centralized portal for job and thesis opportunities. Mandatory excursions should not be a financial burden – a dedicated funding pool is needed for this. Additionally, psychological counseling must be expanded with more resources and made more accessible.
VOTE FOR…
We want to bring Leoben back to life – with creative ideas, inclusive events, and new meeting points. We envision a workshop where students can repair, tinker, and let their creativity run free. Additionally, we demand open spaces that serve as gathering spots for students and organizations to foster leisure and exchange. Our goal: to fill Leoben with more life – for example, through an affordable café without pressure to consume for students, created together with the ÖH.
VOTE FOR…
Our studies need to be more clearly structured and future-oriented – less fragmentation, more focus on relevant content. Those who work alongside their studies should not be disadvantaged: employment should be recognized as an elective course. Exams must be fair and predictable, especially when both written and oral exams are required. Additionally, transparent rules for transitioning between Bachelor’s and Master’s programs are needed so that students know in advance which requirements they must fulfill.
